| AUDIO IDENTITIES |
For AUDIO IDENTITIES I have asked three musicians and composers, from different European cities, with whom I have already worked in various contexts.
Our repertoire is a collage of divers compositions, contributed by each member of the quartet. The Swedish trombonist Peter Dahlgren is a masterful instrumentalist whose solid presence and beautiful sound creates a centre in a group. We play together in ãKaTä- industrial.
The Danish Parisian Hasse Poulsen, often described as an "extreme colourists", can make the guitar sound in the most surprising ways, always conscious of the overall sound. Italian drummer and percussionist Filippo Monico is an unpredictable volcano of drive and propulsion. He is the most exciting drummer with whom I have ever played. Concerning myself Yael Acher, my inspiration is extremely eclectic. The flute has wide varieties of expressions, some of which do not resemble what you usually think of as typical flute playing.
All 4 of us share the urgency for music making, as much as the sheer joy of live audio communicating.
Since identity is an issue concerning all humanity, and in this case us, I have chosen to call this formation: AUDIO IDENTITIES |
